Jones County Woman Charged in Fatal Shooting of Donnie Bender Jr.

JONES COUNTY, Miss. — A tragic incident in Jones County has led to the arrest of 46-year-old Jonna Husband, who now faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Donnie Bender Jr. The fatal shooting occurred at a residence on Graves Road, drawing an immediate response from the Jones County Sheriff’s Department (JCSD) and leaving the community stunned.

According to investigators, deputies were dispatched to the home after reports of gunfire late Saturday evening. Upon arrival, officers found Donnie Bender Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to provide medical aid, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities quickly identified Jonna Husband as the suspect in the shooting. She was taken into custody without further incident and subsequently charged with second-degree murder. The motive behind the shooting has not been fully disclosed, though officials have confirmed that Husband and Bender knew each other.
