GAINESVILLE, FL — September 5, 2025 — The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a tense situation in Southeast Gainesville on Friday evening after a reported disturbance at the Eastside Food Store on Hawthorne Road involving 27-year-old Teresa Moore and 42-year-old Cindy Clark, who was already wanted on an active felony warrant for battery. The altercation quickly escalated into a criminal investigation involving both women and the law enforcement response.

According to authorities, deputies observed a grey Dodge Ram departing the scene at a high rate of speed. The caller confirmed the vehicle was connected to the incident, prompting law enforcement to attempt a traffic stop.

The vehicle fled but was later located abandoned in front of a residence in the 3400 block of SE 22nd Avenue, an address linked to Clark’s active warrant. Teresa Moore complied and was taken into custody without incident, while Clark initially refused to cooperate, verbally threatening deputies from inside the residence. For several hours, authorities maintained a watchful presence to ensure public safety.

Later, Cindy Clark was apprehended without further incident during a traffic stop in the 2700 block of SE Hawthorne Road.

Investigators determined that the altercation began as a verbal dispute between Clark and the victim, which escalated into a physical confrontation involving Moore.
