MT. JULIET, Tenn. — Murder Suspects Apprehended Following Police Pursuit on I-40

Authorities in Mt. Juliet are reporting the arrest of two individuals following a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 40 connected to a recent homicide investigation. The suspects, Jeremiah James, 23, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and Madison Greenwell, 21, also of Shelbyville, Kentucky, were apprehended safely after a coordinated response by local and state law enforcement.

The incident began when Mt. Juliet police received information linking the suspects to a murder that occurred in the region earlier in the week. Officers established surveillance and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description provided. The vehicle, however, fled the scene, prompting a pursuit along I-40.

During the chase, officers exercised caution to protect other motorists while coordinating with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and surrounding jurisdictions. The vehicle was eventually stopped safely without any reported injuries to law enforcement or bystanders. Both Jeremiah James, the driver, and Madison Greenwell, the passenger, were taken into custody without incident and transported to the local detention facility.

Following their arrest, law enforcement confirmed that both suspects are facing charges in connection with the murder investigation. Authorities have not yet released additional details about the victim or the circumstances surrounding the crime, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
