MANCHESTER, Ky. — The Manchester community is mourning the loss of Terry D. McClure, 64, of East Bernstadt, following a serious motorcycle collision on Monday, September 8, 2025. The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 11 in London reported that the incident occurred at approximately 2:21 p.m. on State Highway 1524 near the intersection of State Highway 2000.
Preliminary investigations indicate that McClure was operating a 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Highway 1524 when his motorcycle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2014 Ford F-150, traveling eastbound and operated by 58-year-old Rodney R. Jackson of Manchester.
Emergency responders and law enforcement quickly arrived at the scene. Despite immediate efforts, McClure was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Clay County Coroner. Jackson was transported to Advent Health Manchester with injuries that were reported as non-life-threatening.
Toxicology results for McClure are pending, and no autopsy has been scheduled at this time. The next of kin have been notified of the tragedy.
Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active. Detective Shane Bowling, assisted by personnel from KSP, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County EMS, Manchester Fire Department, Lockard’s Creek Fire Department, and the Clay County Coroner’s Office, continues to gather information regarding the circumstances that led to the collision.
The crash serves as a somber reminder of the risks faced by motorcyclists on rural roadways. Residents and local officials have expressed condolences to the family and friends of Terry McClure during this difficult time, noting the loss of a community member whose life was tragically cut short.
