Authorities Identify Body Found in New Philadelphia as 36-Year-Old Dennison Man

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — The Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the body discovered on Sunday in a fenced lot along Maple Avenue Northwest has been identified as 36-year-old Bryant Sullivan of Dennison.

According to officials, the discovery was made when a passerby noticed the body inside the secured lot and contacted authorities. Emergency responders and New Philadelphia Police officers arrived shortly after and confirmed the presence of a deceased male. The area was secured as investigators began processing the scene.

The Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office stated that Sullivan’s body was removed from the lot and transported for further examination. At this time, the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, pending autopsy and toxicology results. Authorities have not released any immediate indication of foul play but noted that all possibilities remain under investigation.

Neighbors in the Maple Avenue area reported being startled by the heavy police presence on Sunday afternoon. Some residents said they had seen Sullivan in the community previously, while others expressed concern about safety and unanswered questions surrounding the circumstances of his death.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that they are working diligently to uncover the facts. “We understand the public’s concern, but this is an active investigation,” a New Philadelphia Police spokesperson said. “We are awaiting the coroner’s findings and continue to follow up on all leads to determine how Mr. Sullivan came to be in that location.”

Sullivan, originally from Dennison, was remembered by acquaintances as a friendly man who faced personal struggles but maintained close ties with family and friends. His death has left loved ones grieving and searching for answers.
