Sebring Man Identified in Fatal Polk County Car Crash That Caused Power Outage

SEBRING, Fla. — Authorities have identified the victim of a severe single-vehicle crash in Polk County as 23-year-old Samuel Maisonet, a resident of Sebring.

The incident occurred when Maisonet’s 2007 Toyota Corolla crashed inside a pasture, causing significant damage to the vehicle and knocking out power to the surrounding area. First responders arrived promptly and confirmed that Maisonet had succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicle left the roadway and entered the pasture at a high rate of speed, though the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
