BENTON COUNTY, MO — A Warsaw man sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle crash Wednesday evening, according to authorities. The accident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 10 on Route H, prompting an urgent response from emergency personnel.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported that the 44-year-old motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on a 2004 Suzuki Motorcycle when he lost control and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle overturned, causing the rider to be ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, where the man was found seriously injured. He was transported via medevac to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. Authorities noted that the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which may have helped reduce the severity of head injuries.
Details regarding the cause of the accident remain under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. At this time, it is unclear whether speed, road conditions, or other factors played a role in the crash.
Local officials are reminding motorists to exercise caution, especially when traveling on rural routes where curves, narrow shoulders, and other hazards may pose risks to both drivers and motorcyclists.
No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the crash, and there are no further updates on the condition of the injured man. Authorities continue to urge drivers to remain vigilant and follow traffic safety laws to help prevent accidents.
