55-Year-Old Leon Jordan Killed in West Side Crash; Chicago Police Major Accidents Unit Investigating

CHICAGO — A deadly crash on the city’s West Side Friday has claimed the life of 55-year-old Leon Jordan, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Authorities said the incident occurred when a 42-year-old woman driving a vehicle collided with Jordan, who was behind the wheel of an SUV. The impact caused Jordan’s SUV to flip over. Emergency responders rushed him to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Investigation Unit (#MAIU) is leading the investigation into the crash. At this time, no details have been released regarding potential charges or contributing factors such as speed or impairment.

Police confirmed the woman involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Her condition was not disclosed, but officials noted she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The loss of Leon Jordan has left his family, friends, and community in mourning. Loved ones are remembering him as a caring and dependable figure whose presence brought warmth to those around him.
