Lake Charles Man Killed in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 90 in Iberia Parish

NEW IBERIA, La – A tragic traffic collision in Iberia Parish claimed the life of Waddell Mulmore, 58, of Lake Charles, leaving family, friends, and the community in mourning.

According to the Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred just before 6 a.m., involving two vehicles on U.S. 90 near its intersection with Neco Town Road. Authorities said Mulmore was driving a GMC Sierra westbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the truck exited the roadway to the right before overcorrecting. The vehicle crossed both westbound lanes, entered the median, and then entered the eastbound lanes, where it collided with a Nissan Murano traveling east in the left lane.

Tragically, Mulmore, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, who was restrained, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the collision, including factors such as road conditions, vehicle speed, and potential driver impairment. No further details regarding the Nissan driver’s condition have been released at this time.
