Kuna Teen Identified in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Kuna Mora Road

KUNA, Idaho — Authorities have identified the young man killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Kuna Mora Road earlier this week as 19-year-old Jeremiah Tilford of Kuna.

According to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), deputies and the Kuna Police Department responded to reports of a serious injury crash just after 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 4 west of Cole Road.

Investigators say Tilford was driving a 1992 Honda Accord eastbound on Kuna Mora Road when he attempted to pass two vehicles by moving into the westbound lane. During the maneuver, the Honda collided head-on with a 2012 Ford Edge. A 2022 Toyota Camry, also traveling eastbound, was struck as part of the chain reaction.

Tilford, the sole occupant of the Honda, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The Ada County Coroner’s Office confirmed that he died at the scene and later identified the cause of death as traumatic blunt force injuries sustained in the collision.

The occupants of the Toyota Camry — two people — and the driver of the Ford Edge were transported to a local hospital for evaluation of minor injuries. No further updates on their conditions have been released.

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Team is leading the investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and contributing factors in the deadly crash.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward. Those with information are urged to contact Detective Huffaker at mhuffaker@adacounty.id.gov or call Ada County non-emergency dispatch at 208-377-6790.

Tilford’s sudden death has left the Kuna community reeling, as friends and family mourn the loss of a young man whose life was tragically cut short.
