DELAPLAINE, Ark. (September 5, 2025) – A tragic early morning crash has claimed the life of a Northeast Arkansas man after his vehicle left the roadway and overturned.
According to Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder, deputies, along with Arkansas State Police troopers, responded to the scene of a single-vehicle wreck shortly after 3:00 a.m. Friday. The crash occurred south of Delaplaine along a rural stretch of highway.
Authorities report that the vehicle involved was a tractor trailer driven by 60-year-old Randall Nicholas of Bono. Investigators say Nicholas lost control of the vehicle, causing it to run off the roadway before overturning. Despite emergency response efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff Snyder confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Troopers with the Arkansas State Police’s Highway Patrol Division are leading the investigation, which remains ongoing as officials work to determine what may have caused Nicholas to veer off the road.
The crash temporarily slowed traffic in the area as crews worked to clear debris and secure the overturned tractor trailer. Authorities have not yet released details regarding road conditions or whether weather may have been a factor at the time of the accident.
Nicholas, a longtime resident of Bono, is being remembered by community members as word of his sudden passing spreads. No further information has been released about funeral arrangements.
Officials are urging drivers to use caution during early morning travel hours, particularly on rural roadways where visibility and road conditions can change quickly.
This marks another fatal crash in Northeast Arkansas this year, underscoring ongoing concerns about highway safety in the region.
