KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred late Saturday night in South Kansas City, leaving an adult male Known as KJ dead and the community shaken.
According to Kansas City police, officers were dispatched to a business in the 8200 block of East Bannister Road around 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they located a male victim inside the establishment who had sustained gunshot trauma. Despite the efforts of first responders, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting stemmed from an interaction between the victim and another patron at the business, which escalated into gunfire. Police have not released the identities of the victim or any potential suspects, and no arrests have been reported at this time.
