Springfield, Mo. —A devastating collision in Springfield has left a young man dead and another individual facing serious charges. Authorities confirmed that 26-year-old Cullen Beshers of Springfield was killed in the crash, which occurred when a 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan, driven by 41-year-old Jimmy Waweru, collided with Beshers’ vehicle.
According to investigators, the crash happened as Waweru attempted to turn south onto West Bypass from westbound Grand Street. In the process, the Volkswagen struck Beshers’ vehicle, causing a violent impact that resulted in fatal injuries. Emergency personnel responded quickly, but despite life-saving efforts, Beshers was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials noted that Waweru, who remained at the scene, now faces serious charges related to the crash.
