HAZEL PARK, Mich. (September 5, 2025) – Ladamien Keith Hill, 43, has been charged with the murders of his sister, 41-year-old Linda Hill, and her 12-year-old son, Kardi Jackson, after the two were found dead inside their Hazel Park home on Labor Day.
According to investigators, Hazel Park police responded to a home in the 23000 block of Berdeno Avenue where Linda and Kardi were discovered with fatal injuries. Both victims had their throats slashed, a detail authorities described as one of the most disturbing acts of violence the community has seen in recent years.
Detectives revealed that Linda was on the phone just before the attack. She reportedly told the person on the other end of the line that she needed to hang up because her brother had arrived at her home. Authorities now believe that was the final conversation she ever had.
Following the killings, investigators launched a manhunt for Hill. On Tuesday, September 2, police and SWAT officers located him at a residence in Pontiac, where he was taken into custody without further incident. Officers say they also recovered evidence directly linking him to the crime.
Hill is scheduled to appear in court for his arraignment on Friday, September 5, at 3:30 p.m. If convicted, he faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.
The tragic deaths of Linda and Kardi have shaken the Hazel Park community, leaving neighbors in disbelief that such violence could occur within a family. Local officials and advocates say the case underscores the devastating consequences of domestic conflicts escalating into deadly violence.
As Hill awaits arraignment, grief and outrage ripple through the community, with friends and loved ones mourning the loss of a devoted mother and a boy whose life was cut short far too soon.
