In Loving Memory of Paul Rock: Dedicated Leader and Mentor in Scouting

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Paul Rock, who faithfully served as the District Executive of the Bushy Run District in the Westmoreland-Fayette Council. Paul’s steadfast commitment to Scouting and his unwavering dedication to serving others have left a lasting legacy that will continue to shape the lives of countless young people and leaders for years to come.

Throughout his years of service, Paul embodied the very spirit of Scouting. His leadership was more than administrative—it was personal, compassionate, and deeply impactful. He worked tirelessly to ensure that every Scout had the resources, encouragement, and opportunities needed to thrive. Whether it was helping organize events, supporting local troops, or lending a listening ear to fellow leaders, Paul led with both vision and heart.

One of the places where Paul’s influence shined brightest was Camp Conestoga, where he dedicated more than a decade of his life. At camp, Paul became a mentor, role model, and friend to generations of Scouts. His presence brought energy and encouragement to campfires, his wisdom guided young leaders in training, and his service strengthened the traditions that make Camp Conestoga a cornerstone of the council’s history. The lessons he shared and the memories he helped create will live on through every Scout who had the privilege of learning under his guidance.

Paul’s passing is not only a tremendous loss to his family and friends but also to the entire Scouting community. His legacy of leadership, mentorship, and service is woven into the fabric of the Bushy Run District and beyond. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, his tireless work ethic, and the way he inspired others to live by the values of Scouting.

The Westmoreland-Fayette Council, along with countless Scouts, leaders, and volunteers, joins together in mourning Paul’s loss while also celebrating the extraordinary life he lived. His spirit and contributions will remain a guiding light for the community he served so faithfully.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Paul’s family, friends, and all who had the honor of working alongside him. May his memory serve as a reminder of the power of service, dedication, and love for community.
