Man Killed in Fatal Crash on Oxley Highway in Port Macquarie

PORT MACQUARIE, NSW | September 7, 2025 — A man has tragically died following a two-vehicle crash on the state’s Mid North Coast late Saturday night.

At around 9:15 p.m. on September 6, emergency services were called to the Oxley Highway in Port Macquarie after receiving reports of a serious collision involving a Toyota Ute and a Holden Barina.

One Dead, Others Injured

The driver of the Holden, a man believed to be in his 30s, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but, despite their efforts, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead.

The Holden’s front-seat passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital for further assessment.

The driver of the Toyota Ute, a man in his 20s, was also treated at the scene. Paramedics confirmed his injuries were non-life-threatening, and he was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Police Response and Investigation

Officers from the Mid North Coast Police District responded quickly, securing the area and establishing a crime scene. Specialists from the Crash Investigation Unit have since launched a full inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the collision.

At this stage, it is not yet clear what caused the vehicles to collide, though investigators will be examining factors such as speed, road conditions, and potential driver impairment.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner, who will formally determine the cause of death.
